Volunteer and Organization Process for Event

I have been asked to clarify how this event is being organized and run. Melissa Clark is overseeing the CCC side and I am overseeing the UWB side. We are also the interim leads for any sub-committees that don't yet have leads. I am in the process of forming a student club to be the official sponsoring group for the event. All administration, staff, faculty, students, and other interested parties who are working on this event should contact both Melissa and myself initially so that we know who you are and what your interest is. If you know what sub-committee you want to volunteer for, then also contact the lead (if there is one) for that sub-committee. They will then be your direct contact person who you will work with. If there is no lead for that sub-committee then feel free to volunteer for the position! If you have any questions, suggestions, or just want to say hi, don't hesitate to contact Melissa or myself at any time.

Alternative Transportation is being added as well!

I will be leading this section, as well as speaking at the event. Anyone that is interested in helping, please contact me. I need student advocates for bicycling, busing, and carpooling. This is a perfect opportunity to educate the campus about alternative transportation opportunities and issues.

Goats!

Thanks to Tony Guerrero and Tyson Kemper we will be having goats celebrate with us on campus for the Earth Day event! More to come.

Keep spreading the word! We need more people to lead sections and sign up in general.

New sub-committee (Marketing)

I am adding a new section and sub-committee to the list. This will be marketing for the event. We need a lead and some members, so be sure to sign up!

Apology to CCC students/staff/faculty

Whoops. In my haste to get this project going, I forgot to add Cascadia Community College to the main title. This was not intentional. I am very sorry if my oversight offended anyone. This is a joint school and united campus event. I greatly appreciate all the help and leadership that Melissa Clark (Student Sustainability Coordinator for CCC) is bringing to this event, as well as everyone else from CCC who is getting involved. We have a perfect opportunity here with this event to bring our campuses closer together on all levels. Again, my apology for the oversight. Thank you.

You will take these pledges and display them somewhere for everyone to see to encourage and remind them and others of Earth Day, this event and pass it all on to others. Obviously there is a lot of room for creativity here!
